Face-authentication life certificate accepted at all banks from 1 November
All pension disbursing banks have been directed to accept the Digital Life Certificate generated through face authentication on the Jeevan Pramaan application, without insisting on a biometric device or a personal visit.
The annual submission window opens on 1 November for all pensioners, and on 1 October for those aged eighty and above. A certificate submitted in the window remains valid for twelve months from the date of submission.
Banks have been asked to send an SMS acknowledgement within twenty-four hours of successful submission and to publish a branch-wise list of pending cases on their portals.
The Department of Pension and Pensioners Welfare will run a nationwide camp in the first fortnight of November covering 800 districts, in coordination with pensioners associations.
